France: Court recognises "managerial harassment"

The Cour de cassation, France's highest court, found in a ruling issued on 10 November 2009 that management methods may be deemed to constitute "moral harassment" of employees, which is forbidden by law.

French legislation prohibits repeated acts of "moral harassment" (harcèlement moral) - essentially bullying - and obliges employers to take all necessary measures to prevent such conduct.
