France: Deadline approaches for agreements on older workers

On 3 November 2009, the French Government held a meeting of trade union and employers' representatives to mobilise them to sign agreements on promoting the employment of older workers before 1 January 2010.

Legislation adopted in December 2008 called on employers and trade unions to conclude, by the end of 2009, sector- or company-level collective agreements on "active age management".
