France: Debate on pensions Bill

The parliamentary debate on the pensions reform Bill has commenced and the government envisages the draft legislation will be adopted in mid-July and come into force on 1 January 2004.

Following the government's refusal to enter into any further negotiations with the social partners on its plans for pension reform (see France: Progress on pension reform ), the debate on the Bill in the national assembly commenced on 10 June.
