France: EasyJet fined for employing staff on UK contracts
EasyJet, the UK-based airline, was fined by a French court in April 2010 for having employed 170 staff based at Orly airport, near Paris, on British employment contracts.
In a ruling issued on 10 April, the court at Créteil (Val de Marne) found EasyJet guilty of employing staff without registering them or declaring them for social security purposes, and of breaching legislation on employee representation.
