France: Employers oppose increases in social contributions

The Medef employers’ confederation has strongly criticised the government for increasing the level of employers’ social security contributions from January 2009, arguing that this will damage business at a time when the economy is facing a crisis.

Medef claimed in October 2008 that the social security changes will cost companies a total of €2.38 billion per year.
