France: European Commission accepts plan to save automotive industry jobs
The European Commission gave a green light to a government plan to save car production and jobs in France in February 2009, after receiving assurances that French manufacturers will not be required to “repatriate” production from other EU member states.
On 9 February 2009, the French Government presented a controversial plan to rescue the national automotive industry.
