France: France Telecom reaches agreement on older workers

France Telecom, the telecommunications provider, signed an agreement on the employment of older workers and the management of the latter part of employees' careers in its French operations in November 2009.

The accord is a response to legislation that requires companies to conclude agreements on promoting the employment of older workers before 1 January 2010, or face a financial penalty.
