France: France Telecom reaches agreements to tackle stress
France Telecom, which has 100,000 employees in France, signed innovative agreements in March 2010 on work-life balance, restructuring, mobility and development, as part of an initiative to address aspects of stress at work.
The telecommunications provider (which includes the Orange mobile telephone company) has been engaged since autumn 2009 in negotiations with trade unions over a range of issues related to stress at work, following a high-profile controversy over employee suicides at the company.
