France: Government gives more details of pensions reform
The French Government issued in May 2010 a document setting out the main planks of a forthcoming state pensions reform, which include a possible increase in the retirement age above the current 60 years.
On 18 May, the centre-right Government published an "orientation document", partly based on the consultations it launched in April with trade unions and employers' organisations on a reform of the state pensions system, and aimed at feeding into further talks with the social partners on the issue.
