France: Government launches trial of anonymous CVs

The French minister of labour, Xavier Darcos, announced on 3 November 2009 that 50 major companies have agreed to a six-month trial scheme whereby the CVs of job applicants are anonymised to reduce the risk of discrimination.

The aim of anonymous CVs is to exclude any information that might lead those involved in recruitment and selection to discriminate against applicants on race, sex and other grounds.
