France: Government presents social agenda for 2010
The French Government announced in February 2010 the issues on which it plans to consult national trade union and employers' organisations during 2010, including a reform of the state pensions system.
Under legislation adopted in 2007, the Government is required to consult the social partners in advance on all proposed reforms affecting individual or collective employment relations, employment and vocational training, with a view to the partners negotiating national cross-industry agreements on the matter in question.
