France: Government sets out social dialogue agenda for 2009
The French Government announced in February 2009 the issues on which it plans to consult with national trade union and employers’ organisations during 2009, including employee representation and involvement.
On 23 February 2009, Brice Hortefeux, the recently appointed Minister of Labour, sent a letter to the main trade union confederations and employers’ organisations, setting out a proposed “social agenda” for 2009, based on the outcomes of a “social summit” between the Government and social partners held on 18 February.
