France: Limited access for Bulgarians and Romanians

The employment ministry has announced the arrangements for limited labour market access for Bulgarians and Romanians coming to work in France after their countries' accession to the EU on 1 January 2007. The transitional arrangements apply for seven years from this date.

Bulgarians and Romanians will be able to apply for permits to work in 62 trades in certain sectors (including construction, hotels, cafés and restaurants, agriculture and retail) that are experiencing recruitment problems.
