France: New law protects whistleblowers at work

A law published on 14 November 2007 provides protection for employees who report, in good faith, evidence of corruption that they discover in the course of their work.

The Council of Europe's 1999 Civil Law Convention on Corruption invites each signatory country to "provide in its internal law for appropriate protection against any unjustified sanction for employees who have reasonable grounds to suspect corruption and who report in good faith their suspicion to responsible persons or authorities".
