France: Ryanair and easyJet lose employment law jurisdiction case

On 11 July 2007, the Conseil d'État, France's supreme administrative court, rejected cases brought by easyJet and Ryanair seeking to annul a decree that applies French employment law to the France-based flight crew of air transport companies.

The two low-cost airlines, which have their headquarters in the UK (easyJet) and Ireland (Ryanair), were challenging decree 2006-1425 of 21 November 2006 on the "operating bases" of air transport companies.
