France: Ryanair challenges employment law jurisdiction ruling
On 10 October 2007, Ryanair announced that it is challenging in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) a recent French court ruling that French employment law applies to the airline’s France-based cabin crew and pilots.
On 11 July 2007, the Conseil d'État, France’s supreme administrative court, rejected cases brought by Ryanair and easyJet (headquartered in Ireland and the UK respectively) seeking to annul a 2006 decree (2006-1425) that applies French employment law to the France-based flight crew of air transport companies.
