France: Sale of Airbus sites postponed following strikes

In late April 2008, Airbus announced that it had postponed the sale of three French plants, following strikes by workers demanding equal treatment with Airbus’s German operations, whose planned sale had been cancelled.

In February 2007, the EADS aerospace and defence group - headquartered in the Netherlands, but with its main shareholders in France, Germany and Spain - announced a restructuring programme entitled “Power 8” for Airbus, its aircraft manufacturing division.
