France: Social partners are consulted on improving working conditions

On 28 November 2007, the minister of labour, Xavier Bertrand, consulted trade unions and employers’ organisations on three issues where he is considering action: employee-management dialogue on working conditions in small firms; improving the operation of workplace health and safety committees; and the way in which employees can alert employers to urgent health and safety problems.

The three themes had been identified at a tripartite conference on working conditions organised by the government on 4 October 2007.
