France: Social partners open talks on managing employment consequences of the crisis

France's main employers' organisations and trade union confederations decided in June 2009 to start negotiations over a possible national agreement on managing the consequences for employment of the current economic downturn.

On 27 May 2009, the social partners met to discuss the "social agenda" for consultations and possible negotiations, proposed by the Government in February.
