France: Training law adopted

The French Parliament adopted a new law on vocational training on 14 October 2009, aimed at modernising the system and meeting changing labour market needs.

The legislation implements the main points of a national cross-industry agreement signed by trade unions and employers' organisations in January 2009, which formed the basis for a draft law proposed by the Government.
