France: ‘UIMM affair’ shakes social partners
During October 2007, national negotiations on labour market modernisation - and French industrial relations more generally - were disrupted by allegations of secret withdrawals from the bank accounts of the UIMM metalworking employers’ organisation and illicit payments to trade unions.
UIMM is one of the largest and most influential member organisations of Medef, France’s main employers’ confederation.
