Germany: Lufthansa pilots strike over jobs, pay and consultation rights

Pilots at Lufthansa went on strike for four days in late February 2010 in a long-running dispute about the crewing of flights at the German airline's subsidiaries.

The striking pilots, members of the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) pilots' trade union, work either directly for Lufthansa and its cargo subsidiary or for German Wings, an airline acquired by Lufthansa in January 2009.
