Germany: Metalworking reaches pay deal in face of economic gloom
Against a backdrop of economic downturn, the IG Metall metalworkers’ trade union and regional employers’ associations in the metalworking industry signed an 18-month pay deal in November 2008, providing for a 4.2% wage increase and various lump-sum payments.
