Germany: Minimum wage expected in temporary work sector by summer 2008

A binding minimum wage is expected to be introduced in the temporary agency work sector by summer 2008, following consultations between the minister of labour, Olaf Scholz, the two main employers’ associations in the branch (the BZA and IGZ), and the DGB trade union confederation. This follows the recent introduction of a minimum wage in the postal sector.
