Germany: New sectoral minimum wages agreed but prospects dim for further additions

The German Government decided in February 2010 to give legally binding force to agreements setting minimum pay rates in the industrial cleaning and roofing sectors. However, changes to procedures in this area have made it less likely that binding minimum rates will be introduced in further sectors.
