Germany: Pay deal reached for regional governments
A new collective agreement was signed in March 2009 for the 700,000 employees of Germany’s regional governments, providing for a total wage increase of 5.8% over two years.
Negotiations over a pay settlement for employees of the federal states (Länder), which began in early 2009, proved lengthy and difficult.
