Germany: Ver.di calls strikes against Deutsche Telekom

The ver.di services trade union is conducting a campaign against the proposed transfer of 50,000 posts at Deutsche Telekom to a range of subsidiaries that the company intends to have operational from 1 July 2007. Under the telecommunications company’s proposals, the employees concerned would be subject to new terms and conditions entailing lower pay and longer working hours.
