Government makes new offer on public service pensions

The Government made a revised offer to public sector trade unions on 2 November 2011 in a bid to fend off the prospect of widespread industrial action over changes to public service pensions.

The new offer was quickly followed by a ministerial suggestion that union members consider a 15-minute protest on 30 November, rather than a full strike, on the grounds that the negotiations still had some way to go.
