Hungary: Social dialogue laws questioned

In December 2006, parliament adopted by an overwhelming majority laws on the tripartite National Interest Reconciliation Council (OÉT) and on bipartite sectoral social dialogue commissions. However, the president of Hungary, László Sólyom, has refused to sign these laws and referred them to the Constitutional Court for examination of their constitutionality.
