International: Suez signs European agreement on guarantees for staff in merger

Suez, a France-based utilities group, has signed an agreement with its European Works Council (EWC) and trade unions providing guarantees for its workforce across Europe - including a ban on redundancies for 18 months - in the company’s impending merger with Gaz de France.

Suez, which operates in the electricity, gas, energy services, water and waste management sectors, has some 140,000 employees worldwide.
