Ireland: Government proposes employment subsidy scheme
As part of talks over a national economic recovery plan, in June 2009 the Irish Government proposed a temporary scheme to subsidise jobs in industries badly affected by the global recession.
Talks have been proceeding slowly since March 2009 over a national tripartite pact to deal with the consequences of the economic crisis and revise the national pay agreement reached in September 2008, in the light of the changed economic circumstances.
