Ireland: Jobs lost as Dell relocates

In January 2009, Dell, the US-based computer manufacturer, announced that it will relocate its European production centre from Ireland to Poland, with the loss of 1,900 Irish jobs.

Dell opened its plant in Limerick in 1991 and the site employs around 2,900 workers.
