Italy: Construction workers strike for new agreement
On 24 April 2008, trade unions in the construction industry organised an eight-hour strike to support their demands in negotiations over a new sectoral collective agreement.
Unions claimed that the strike was a success, with 70% of building workers participating, and as many as 85% in major industrial areas of northern and central Italy.
