Italy: Government plans to renew public sector workforce
In September 2007, the minister for the public sector, Luigi Nicolais, presented a plan aimed at renewing the age profile of the public administration's workforce. He wants to encourage the early retirement of employees over the age of 60 in order to replace them with younger and more-skilled workers.
