Italy: Ground-breaking agreement signed in chemicals
On 9 July 2007, the social partners in the chemicals sector concluded a highly innovative accord that allows, under certain conditions, company-level deviations from the terms of the industry-wide collective agreement.
The guidelines agreed in July by the Federchimica employers' association and the Filcem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl and Uilcem-Uil trade unions put into effect a provision in the current national collective agreement for the chemicals industry, signed in May 2006 (EER 389 p.9).
