Italy: Pay deal reached in rubber and plastics

On 4 July 2008, trade unions and employers’ organisations signed a new collective agreement for the rubber and plastics industry, covering more than 130,000 workers and 2,500 companies, including major firms such as Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli and Prismyan Cavi.

The negotiations had been long and difficult, with the unions - Filcem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl and Uilcem-Uil - organising 26 hours of strikes.
