Italy: Strike threatened in public sector pay row

Italy’s main trade union confederations, Cgil, Cisl and Uil, have threatened to call a national strike in the public sector in the first half of May in a dispute over the funds available for the forthcoming renewal of collective agreements in the sector. These agreements cover more than 3 million workers in education, healthcare and local, regional and central government.
