A new 12-month pay and conditions agreement at Lafarge Cement UK has resulted in basic salaries, salary scales and allowances increasing by 3.1%, with effect from 1 January 2006. The settlement was negotiated between the company, formerly known as Blue Circle, and its recognised trade unions - Amicus, the GMB, the Transport and General Workers' Union (TGWU) and the British Cement Staff Association.
