A new 12-month pay and conditions agreement at Lafarge Cement UK has resulted in basic salaries, salary scales and allowances increasing by 3.52%, effective from 1 January 2005. The settlement was negotiated between the company, formerly known as Blue Circle, and its recognised trade unions - Amicus, the GMB, the Transport and General Workers' Union and the British Cement Staff Association.
