Largest equal value claim launched
Public sector union Unison has launched an equal value pay claim for a group of nearly 1,000 local authority teaching assistants, the biggest such claim yet made in Europe, according to the union( 1).
The 990 teaching assistants are among 4,000 working for Lancashire County Council, and include nursery nurses, special support assistants and learning and classroom assistants.
