Lithuania: First union established in finance sector
May 2007 saw the formation of the first union to represent employees in Lithuania’s finance sector, the Finance Trade Union (Finansu Profesine Sajunga, FPS).
Lithuania has one of the lowest union densities in the EU, at around 10%-15% of the workforce, and unions are particularly weak in the services sector.
