Mastic asphalt industry: Rates boosted by 5%

The latest national wage agreement for the mastic asphalt industry raises minimum rates by 5%. The increases, effective from 27 June 2005, give a new minimum guaranteed wage of £278.46 for "mixermen", "potmen", and classified labourers working a standard 39-hour week. As a result of the deal, the minimum guaranteed weekly wage for a spreader rises to £301.08.
