Minimum salaries for environmental engineers rise by 3.5%

    A new 12-month pay and conditions deal has increased by 3.5% the grade minimum salaries for technical, administrative and clerical staff within the scope of the national joint council (NJC) for the Environmental Engineering Industry, with additional increases to the minimum grade salaries for those at the bottom of the pay structure to ensure compliance with the national minimum wage. Under the terms of the deal, effective from 1 January 2007, the London weighting payment rises from £2,500 to £2,590 a year.
