Minimum wage crackdown

In January 2007, the UK government announced a policy to consistently fine employers that have paid their workers below the national minimum wage (NMW), and then failed to repay arrears after receiving an enforcement notice1. A minimum fine of £224.70 for each affected worker will become payable within seven days of a complaint being upheld.
