Ministry of Defence: 4.5% average performance award
Following single-table negotiations with civil service unions, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded its 60,000 employees all-merit increases worth an average of 4.5%, effective from 1 August 1999, at a cost of 2.7% on the paybill. According to the MoD: "The award provides for average earnings growth of 4.7%.
