National Grid: 2.85% pay rise

Around 3,200 clerical, craft, engineering, technical and professional employees at the National Grid Company have received a 2.85% pay increase, under the second stage of a three-year inflation-proof deal, effective 1 July 2001. The agreement, negotiated with the AEEU, EMA, GMB, TGWU and Unison, links this year's basic increase to the rise in the May 2001 RPI (2.1%) plus 0.75%.
