NHS recovery will raise insurance costs

The government has announced proposals to enable the NHS to recover the costs of treating patients in all cases where personal injury compensation is paid, including those at work. These costs will fall primarily on insurers, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) estimates that the plans will push up the cost of employers' liability compulsory insurance (ELCI) for the average business by 5%.
