Norway: LO chair resigns following critical report
On 9 March 2007, Gerd Liv Valla announced that she was stepping down from her position as chair of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), the country's largest union organisation. Valla took over as LO chair in 2001, becoming the first woman to hold the position.
