The second stage of a two-year pay and conditions agreement between the Offshore Contractors' Association for the employers and Amicus and the GMB for the employees has resulted in a 3.3% basic pay rise, effective from 1 April 2006. The increase results from an inflation-linked formula based on the average retail prices index (RPI) in November and December 2005 and January 2006 (2.3%) plus 1%.
