The table contained in this article summarises the latest pay settlements monitored by XpertHR.

Chemicals and pharmaceuticals

General services

Computacenter (ex-BT terms and conditions) - management and professional grades (19) 1.1.12 12 Increases adding a total of 2% of paybill are agreed - this follows a recommendation to accept a final offer and a ballot. Resulting rises to be distributed as a 1.8% flat-rate rise, with the remaining 0.2% used to bring those on the lowest salaries to a new range minimum of £36,950.42 per year.
ITV - BECTU, NUJ and Unite grades (5,200) 1.1.12 12 3% increase on base salaries for employees paid up to £60,000 per year, with other employees covered by the collective agreement also receiving the 3% pay rise. All employees receive a "thank you" bonus of £250, and an additional day's leave.
STV Group - clerical grades, journalists, engineering and technical staff (370); managers (40) 1.1.12 12 2.5% basic pay rise.

Public services

Identity and Passport Service - all below senior civil service (3,700) 1.8.11 12 Second year of two-year public sector pay freeze. No pay progression. All satisfactory performers with a full-time-equivalent salary of £21,000 or below have full-time-equivalent salary increased by £250, with some staff earning slightly above this threshold given an increase to prevent leapfrogging. Spot rates for the two lowest grades, and the minimum and maximum for the national grade above this, increased by £250; all other rates frozen.
National Probation Service - chief officer grade staff excluding chief executives (300) 1.4.11 12 No change to pay points. Eligible employees receive pay progression of one point.
National Probation Service - probation officers, probation services' officers, middle managers and administrative and clerical staff (19,000) 1.4.11 12 Eligible employees in the lowest two pay bands, 1 and 2, receive pay progression of two points, with the top of the bands extended to ensure those earning a full-time-equivalent salary of £21,000 or less receive an increase of at least £250. Those in higher bands receive one point progression. The minimum of bands 1 to 4 raised by one pay point, no change to other pay points.
Welsh Government - all staff below senior civil service (5,400) 1.4.11 12 Incremental progression for staff in all grades below their pay scale maximum, subject to satisfactory performance. Those earning a full-time-equivalent salary of £21,000 per year or less receive an increase of at least £250 either through progression or through an increase of £250 to the maximum of the lowest grade. The bottom point of the next pay scale up is removed to maintain the differential; all other scale points are frozen. The award will be implemented in March 2012, backdated to the April 2011 review date.
